parkrun 131 Delamere

Last week we were At Bushy Park, after we had been to Richmond Theatre the night before. This week we were in Cheshire, visiting friends on the Friday, and meeting up with our daughter, for lunch on the Saturday so…. what to do in the time in-between?!

We had read about Delamere parkrun from our parkrun friend Lucy, and thought that we would give this one a visit. (Most of our parkrun tourist venues to date have been in Country Parks or woodland settings)

It was a lovely course, almost a one-lapper, and on the day the sun was just catching the surface of the Mere and it was dry underfoot (mostly). An undulating couse, even around the shoreline but nothing too strenuous.

Just like any other parkrun, we felt “at home”, but the regulars here go out of their way to seek out tourists and come up for a chat. Turns out one of the people we spoke to used to run at Huddersfield parkrun, which is our daughter’s home run, (and incidentally, where my parkrun adventure began). Small world!

  1. Thanks for the shout out 🙂 – as far as I know, it’s my first ever one from another blog, I feel very honoured! I loved Delamere but it’s always a relief to find others agree. Great use of selfie frame by the way. You guys have talent. Lx
